Heart

Heart is a rock group founded by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson in Seattle in 1973.

Ann sings lead on most all of the band’s hits while Nancy handles guitar and also sings occasional lead vocals.

The group has had many supporting band members come and go over the years, but nearly 40 years later, the sisters are still performing together with their band.

The group became successful starting in 1975 with the release of the album “Dreamboat Annie“.

This album spawned the hits “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You“.

I remember buying the 45 single record of “Crazy on You” when it came out and I was only 10 yrs old. I have loved the group ever since.

From 1975-1990 the group had their most success and produced a number of hit records and sold more than 30 Million records worldwide.

Their great hits include:

CRAZY ON YOU
MAGIC MAN
DREAMBOAT ANNIE
BARRACUDA
KICK IT OUT
HEARTLESS
STRAIGHT ON
EVEN IT UP
DOG AND BUTTERFLY
TELL IT LIKE IT IS
THIS MAN IS MAN
WHAT ABOUT LOVE?
ALONE
THESE DREAMS
NOTHING AT ALL
NEVER
WHO WILL YOU RUN TO?
I WANT YOU SO BAD
THERE’S THE GIRL
ALL I WANNA DO IS MAKE LOVE TO YOU
STRANDED
I DIDN’T WANT TO NEED YOU
WILL YOU BE THERE IN THE MORNING?

and many others….

Twenty of their hits have reached the Top-40 of the Billboard Charts.

Alone” and “These Dreams” both reached #1 on the Billboard Charts.

I saw the group in concert in London in the mid 1980′s and they were great!

Nancy Wilson started the concert out by doing the solo guitar intro for Barracuda and was awesome!

Today, the sisters are still actively touring and recording music together. Nancy is married to writer/director Cameron Crowe and has helped compose music for a number of his films including “Almost Famous”, “Vanilla Sky” and “Jerry Maguire”. Ann Wilson released her first solo album in 2007.
