Ratt is a San Diego based Heavy Metal Band that was popular during the 1980′s.
The band was first formed in 1975 and was initially called “Mickey Ratt“. In 1981, the name was shortened to Ratt.
Their 1984 Album “Out of the Cellar” rocketed them to Heavy Metal Stardom.
The single “Round and Round” from that album reached #12 on the Billboard Top-40 charts.
The “Round and Round” music video answers the question..What is the only Heavy Metal Video to feature Legendary Hollywood Comedian Milton Berle in drag?
During the peak years of the 80′s, Ratt was:

“Lay it Down” reached #40 on the Billboard Charts in 1985.
Seventeen of their singles have hit the Top-40 on Billboard Rock Charts during their career.
The group disbanded from 1992-1996.
The period from 1996-2006 saw the group in a great deal of turmoil. Founding member and lead singer Pearcy left the group, as did other members, and guitarist Robbin Crosby died in 2002. The group used a new lead singer and some additional band members with Blotzer and DeMartini being the only original members left in the band.
Stephen Pearcy returned to the group in 2006 and the present-day incarnation of Ratt is still touring and recording. Original members Pearcy, Blotzer, and DeMartini have now been joined by Carlos Cavazo (Guitar) and Robbie Crane (Bass).
The bands most recent album “Infestation” was released in2010.
The group is now on an idefinete hiatus.
