The story of how Andrea True became a Two-Hit Wonder is truly heartwarming. Before reading on, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby….you are liable to break down into a sobbing heap of jelly before this story is over….
Andrea True was born and raised in Nashville, TN. While growing up, she attended an ALL-GIRL Catholic school. After graduating, she headed to the bright lights of New York City to seek fame as a Movie Star.
She did find a little work as a mainstream actress, but not enough to survive. So, she did what you would expect of a poor Catholic girl from Tennessee , who desperately wanted to be a serious actress…
She turned to Porn! ( Start cheesy 70′s porn music now…)
Yes, Andrea True became a Porn Star! During the period of the mid to late 1970′s, she was one of the most recognizable names in the industry and appeared in dozens of adult films.
But what does a successful Porn Actress do when all the fame and money still are not enough?
She records a hit record! (Only in America!)
Andrea True, billed then as “Andrea True Connection“, released the single “More, More, More” in 1976.
The single rose to #4 on the Billboard Top-40 charts and became a fixture song in Disco’s around the world.
Unbelievably, she did find her way back onto the charts with the song “N.Y….You Got Me Dancing” which reached #27 on the Billboard Top-40 in 1977. After that, the hit parade dried up and could no longer find success on the charts. So, she did what any serious singer or musician struggling to fight back onto the charts after a taste of fame would do…
She went back to Porn.
In the early 80′s, Andrea True retired from the world of Porn. Today she can found in Florida, where she works as a Drug Rehab Counselor and also as an Astrologer.
Just another nail in the Psychological coffin of all the One-Hit Wonders in music History. They had ONE hit…..a Porn Star had Two! That should have sent a lot of artists looking for a good rope and a foot stool!
How this heartwarming story was not made into a Hollywood Blockbuster is a mystery to me…..
Someone call Quentin Tarantino!!

Andrea True I’d love to have a chance to talk to you.

what an extraordinary story!!!
I was working for SeaWorld in 1976 when Andrea True’s “More, More, More” was released. It was one of the few disco tunes to be played on Top 40. My supervisor took me to an Andrea True Film Festival at a local adult theatre in Orlando and they played “More, More, More” during intermission! My, she certainly showed her tonsils in those films! I would love to meet her today now that she is helping me with drug and alcohol problems.
