The Michael Stanley Band was an American Rock Group that had some minor success in the 1980′s.
The group, led by leader Michael Stanley, was formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1974.
They released their first album in 1975.
They released a total of 13 Studio and Greatest Hits Albums between 1975 and 1997.
Their biggest hit was the 1980 single “He Can’t Love You” which reached #33 on the Billboard Top-40 Charts.
The video for that song was played on MTV during MTV’s first day on the air.

They avoided One-Hit Wonder status when they charted again in 1983 with “My Town” which squeaked into the Top-40 at #39 on the Billboard Charts.
The band broke up in 1986.
Michael Stanley appeared as himself on an episode of “The Drew Carey Show” which was set in Cleveland.
Since 1990, Michael Stanley has been an afternoon drive-time Disc Jockey at a popular Cleveland Radio Station.
He still occasionally performs around the Northeast Ohio area with his new backing band, The Resonators.
