Mr. Mister was an American Rock Band popular during the mid 1980′s.
They released their first album in 1984 but did not find success on the charts until the 1985 release of the album “Welcome the Real World“.
That album would produce 3 Top-10 singles, including two that would reach #1 on the Charts.
The first single, “Broken Wings” rose to #1 on the Billboard Top-40 charts in 1985.
The follow-up, “Kyrie” also reached #1 on the charts, charting in 1986.
The third single “Is it Love?” reached #8 on the Billboard Top-40 charts in 1986.
The band consisted of:
Richard Page – Vocals, Bass
Steve George – Keyboards
Pat Mastelotto – Drums
Steve Farris – Guitar
They would return to the charts in 1987 with the hit “Something real” which peaked at #29 on the Billboard Top-40 Charts.
Richard Page is a sought-after songwriter and has written songs for artists including Madonna, Hall & Oates, Celine Dion, Meat Loaf, The Pointer Sisters, Chaka Khan, and many others.
At various points in his career, Richard Page turned down offers to be the new lead singer of Toto and Chicago at times when both bands were looking for new leads. (Bet he regrets those decisions!)
The group broke up in 1989 after only releasing 3 Albums in their brief career.
