Lori Singer is an American Actress best known for her role as “Ariel Moore” in the 1984 film “Footloose“.
Before Footloose, she starred on the TV series “Fame” from 1982-1983, playing a gifted young Cellist.
After Footloose, she went on to star in films such as “The Falcon and the Snowman“, “The Man with One Red Shoe“, “Short Cuts“, “Trouble in Mind“, and others.
Her role in the 1993 film “Short Cuts” was her last major film role.
In real life, she is a classically trained Cellist and has performed around the world including The Royal Albert Hall in London, and Carnegie Hall in New York. She was accepted into the Juilliard Performing Arts school in New York at the age of 14.
Madonna auditioned for the role of Ariel in Footloose.
She is the sister of actor Marc Singer.
She is the cousin of “X-Men” Director Bryan Singer.
She currently lives in New York with her son.
