The Three Degrees are an American Soul/Disco group based in Philadelphia, Pa.
The group has been active since 1963.
They are best known for their 1974 smash hit “When Will I See You Again?” which reached #2 on the Billboard Top-40 Charts.
They did have an earlier single that reached the charts, the 1970 single “Maybe“, which reached #29 on the Billboard Charts.
The group has always featured three female singers and has had a large turnover through the years. To date, 12 different ladies have sang under the Three Degrees title.
They have placed 9 singles onto the Billboard R&B Top-40 Charts over the years.
The group had a cameo appearance in the 1971 film “The French Connection“.
They also appeared as themselves on an episode of the TV sitcom “Sanford and Son“.
They were the first All-Female group to top the UK Charts since The Supremes, reaching #1 with “When Will I See You Again?” in 1974.
The latest incarnation of The Three Degrees continues to perform around the Country.
