Queen

Queen is a British Rock Band that was first formed in London in 1970.

The group had a stellar worldwide career in the 1970′s and 1980′s.

To date, the group has released 15 Studio Albums.

At their peak, Queen was:

Freddie Mercury – Vocals, Piano
Brian May – Guitar
Roger Taylor – Drums
John Deacon – Bass

The group, led by Freddie Mercury, quickly gained a reputation as being one of the best Live Concert bands in Music History.

In the US, Queen charted 13 singles onto the Billboard Top-40 charts in their career.

The singles “Crazy little thing called Love“, and “Another one bites the Dust” both reached #1 on the Billboard Charts in the US.

In their native England, the group has charted an amazing 45 singles onto the British Charts over the course of their career.

The single “Bohemian Rhapsody” reached #2 on the Billboard Charts in the US in 1975. After it was featured prominently in the film “Wayne’s World“, it again reached #2 on the Billboard Charts in 1992.

Current singing sensation Lady Ga Ga derived her name from the single “Radio Ga Ga”.

The 2006 Album “Queen’s Greatest Hits” is the top-selling album in British Music History.

The Guinness Book of World Records in 2005 stated that Queen’s Albums had spent 1,322 weeks on the British Charts, equivalent to 27 years, more than any other musical act in History.

Freddie Mercury died in 1991 of Aids-related complications.

The group reformed from 2004-2009 with former Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers. They performed under the title Queen + Paul Rodgers.

Since 2009, Brian May and Roger Taylor have performed as a duo under the original Queen name.
