Steel Dragon is a fictional 1980′s British Heavy Metal Band fronted by Mark Wahlberg in the 2001 film “Rock Star“.
The band used music from the real band “Steelheart“, with lead singer Miljenko Matijevic providing the vocals for Mark Wahlberg’s concert scenes.
“Steelheart” had one chart hit in its career with the single “I’ll Never Let You Go” which hit #14 on the Billboard Charts in 1991.
The “band” featured actors Wahlberg and Dominic West, with Steel Dragon containing a number of real-life Rock veterans including:
Jason Bonham – Drums (Foriegner)
Jeff Pilson – Bass (Dokken, Foriegner)
Zakk Wylde – Guitar (Ozzy Osbourne)
